Armstrong Has Surgery
Doctors placed a five-inch metal plate and 12 screws into Lance Armstrong’s broken right collarbone Wednesday. Doug Elenz, an orthopedic surgeon, said the injury was first thought to be a simple fracture, but instead the bone had broken into four pieces when Armstrong crashed in a race in Spain on Monday.
